Short-term Psychotherapy & Consultation
via Zoom/Teletherapy
I provide short-term psychotherapy and consultation via Zoom or teletherapy. I am highly skilled with individuals, couples and families with adult children. My life passion now is serving as an end-of-life doula.
Who am I?
For over 40 years as a licensed psychologist, my private practice focused on long-term psychotherapy for individuals, families and couples. I have been a nationally recognized presenter, trainer, author and consultant on many topics including gender and psychotherapy, feminist analyses of systems theory in the service of helping people grow and thrive as full human beings, domestic violence, intersectionality and the social/contextual elements of identity and intimacy, and how the inner life and history of psychotherapists shape their clinical talents and challenges. I blend many clinical paradigms including systemic theories, psychodynamic frameworks, mindfulness, trauma theories, Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory including Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFS and couples therapy), multiculturalism, intersectionality and social justice frameworks.
My New Professional Direction
In 2021, I changed my psychotherapy practice to a short-term or consultative model.
Desiring a new chapter of adventure, growth and service, I became an end-of-life doula (EOLD). My EOLD and psychotherapy practices are distinct in terms of goals and services. To learn more, please visit my EOLD website
Why I love what I do
Practicing as a psychologist is both a pleasure and a privilege as I am brought into the most intimate moments and struggles of people's lives, catalyzing and witnessing deep healing. I am engaged, steady, active, fearless, boundaried, and collaborative. I focus on possibility and growth, rather than on limiting definitions of pathology. I am dedicated to results entwined with enhanced connection and understanding. I am passionate about and committed to my work.
